REVIEW – Artist Residence

This 17th century Chalet that is today a lovely contemporary accommodation and ideally located in the heart of Penzance.

Type : Boutique Hotel

Wifi : Yes

Price : 110 pounds per night ( approx)

Parking : Yes, around the area but not on premise.

We selected the Artist Residenze for our visit to Cornwall. The location of the property in Penzance is ideal to visit all the landmarks of Cornwall through road. There are ample parking spaces around the area, both free and paid.

As the pictures of the room on the website were very interesting our initial reaction to the really simple room we checked in to was somewhat of disappointment. Our tiny room ws one of newly furnished Ones and lacked any of the wall art that we were looking forward to. The room was definitely clean and tidy with stocked with basic amenities.

Artist residenze has a lovely bar and a restaurant downstairs which is perfect for a drink before bedtime, okay I did not just say that. The Barn which is the restaurant downstairs, serves food made with with fresh local produce and they even do live music on Fridays.

It gets a little noisy in the room because of the bars adjacent to the property however they shut at 11 pm. As each room is differently designed and hence we feel the experience of staying at artist residence vastly varies according to the room you end up getting.

What’s good ? The location and the hipster bar and cafe

What’s not ? Noisy, tiny rooms
