Make the most of your day in Cardiff, just like we did . This bursting town could be a good addition to your road trip.
It’s hard to understand Cardiff without soaking some of its past from the glorious castle. Even though much of it was ruined, the remains are worth a visit. William Burges’s architectural marvels in the Castle apartments are a feast for the eyes. Within the walls of the castle there are numerous tunnels that used to be air raid shelters during world war 2.
Everyone seems to love Bute park. Watching huge Symmetrical trees and happy people strolling along makes Bute worth a visit or should I say a walk ?
Take a water taxi from the city centre and reach the Cardiff Bay. This is where all the action happens. There are a host of bars, cafes and restaurants to choose from. There’s also a the Pierhead building, Wales millennium Centre and Doctor Who experience for the fans.
We loved watching the sun go down from the Dock sipping some ales.
The locals also recommend the National History Museum and the Riverside market which you could add to your time in Cardiff.
